Catherine McCullough works where the worlds of law, politics and media merge to create policy in the field of technology. She was raised in Washington and has worked in politics for over 20 years. Much of her work helps innovators in the tech and telecom fields successfully navigate the current Washington state-of-play. As Executive Director of the Intelligent Car Coalition, Catherine advocates for public policies that bring the benefits of connected car innovations to consumers. Catherine is a contributor to The Huffington Post, serves on panels at conferences such as South by Southwest, writes op-eds for Washington publications such as Roll Call, The Hill, and Real Clear Politics, and tweets @honestlobbyist.
Catherine previously served as a Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where she worked on subcommittees that oversaw Internet, privacy, auto safety, insurance, and consumer product liability issues. Prior to her Committee service, she worked as an Associate Director of Media Relations at one of Washington’s top trade associations explaining technical legal matters to the media. She is an attorney and also holds degrees in Journalism and Political Science.
